We're part of DONER. The world's largest independent advertising agency.

Our People

Andrew Hawkins

With nothing more than an economics degree and an MBA from Kellogg, a young Andrew Hawkins stepped into the hallowed halls of Ogilvy & Mather in 1982. A spell at Publicis led to GGK, where he became Managing Director in 1990.

In 1995 Andrew founded Doner Cardwell Hawkins with Paul Cardwell, in so doing forming one of the longest-lasting partnerships in the industry. The first campaign that the new agency created, for Fuller’s London Pride, is still running today.

Andrew still enjoys taking a hands-on approach with all of the agency’s clients – whether invited to or not.

Paul Cardwell

Paul has worked in advertising for more than 20 years and in that time has won every major advertising award in the world. Almost.

Over the years, Paul has traversed his way across some of the biggest London agencies including,  FCB, Y&R, Publicis, Leo Burnetts and GGK, before setting up DCH with Andrew Hawkins in 1995.

David Hooper

A Chartered Accountant, trained and qualified with Arthur Andersen, David is more than our Finance Director.   David is involved with all aspects of the agency, from implementing a new IT & phone system to arranging to have the front doors taken off to get a car in the agency reception for a pitch.

After 10 years in Y&R as Finance Director of Cohn & Wolfe and Burson-Marsteller, David joined WPP as European Finance Director of Ogilvy PR.  In 2002 David helped launch boymeetsgirl, before spending three years as Finance Director of Four, a privately owned marketing communications group.

Nick Scott

Nick started his advertising career at Still Price Court Twivy D’Souza in 1985, where he spent 6 years working on clients including Virgin Atlantic, BT, P&O Cruises and Warburton’s Bread.  Actually, the clients he has worked with reads like a who’s who of brands and include Bird’s Eye, Rolls Royce, British Steel, John Lewis, Mastercard and L’Oreal. After stints at McCanns and Y&R, Nick joined DCH in 2001 as Deputy Creative Director and Head of Art.

Matt McMinn

Although Matt’s not a fan of the word ‘integrated’, his CV would suggest otherwise.  As a graduate at what was the biggest DM agency in Europe, WWAV Rapp Collins, to Commercial Director at Melbourne’s number 1 ad agency, George Patterson Bates, the past 11 years have given Matt the opportunity to work above, below, through, around, over and under the line.

Originally an account man, Matt moved across to business development in 2002 where he headed up Business Development at Clark Mckay & Walpole. He joined DCH in 2008.

Rory Teeling

A degree in philosophy, politics and economics, a masters in philosophy and another in politics. It begs the question, why is Rory in marketing?

The answer. Our Rory’s a bit of a social anthropologist and loves nothing more than digging out the insights into how people interact with brands.

Rory has worked with agencies across pretty much every discipline, having worked with the direct hotshop Tequila and the classic a-t-l agency, Publicis.  Rory also set up a digital company, Harvest Digital, which he sold in 2004.

Nik Margolis

Nik comes from a traditional direct marketing background, having cut his teeth in marketing at Brann as a graduate trainee in the heady days when a five colour press was something innovative.  Nik saw the potential of digital relatively early and joined an ‘email agency’ in 2001, before indulging his entrepreneurial side and co-founding Squeeze in 2004.

Squeeze pioneered the use of traditional DM in ‘new meeja’ without recourse to office scooters, or backlit blue lighting, on behalf of a range of Blue Chip clients including Victor Chandler, The Economist, NSPCC and Shelter.

Ali Zachar

After rising through the ranks in the offline world, Ali honed her digital skills at Graphico and joined Squeeze Digital in 2005 as Nik’s number 2. As someone who can speak in both on and offline terms, she is ideal to head up the account teams for our integrated offering.

She has delivered strategic and project management support for clients as diverse as Shelter and the British Standards Institute.

Justin Stephenson

Our international man of mystery has travelled the agency world in his time, working with some of the biggest names in advertising. Publicis in London, Ogilvy in Toronto and Saatchi’s in Singapore.

In addition, Justin has managed local accounts including BP, Nestle, Unilever and Deloitte & Touche and global accounts such as Nokia, Hewlett Packard and KFC.
